“Lafoli Lanmod” Ignites the Runway at Festival Kreol 2023

Domaine Val des Pres, Au Cap transformed into a center of fashion innovation on October 21st , 2023, with the introduction of “Lafoli Lanmod” during the renowned Festival Kreol. Replacing “Fon Lanmal,” this event has set a new standard for fashion in Seychelles, showcasing a fusion of professional skill and developing talent.

The event aimed to inspire SIAD (Seychelles Institute of Art and Design) students, pairing them with professional stylists to spark a passion for fashion careers. The runway was brightened with conceptual collections, where the liveliness of Seychellois culture was incorporated into each design.

Notable awards of the evening included Isis Loze winning “Best Young Stylist” with an ocean-inspired collection, while Emma Larue’s “Ocean Tentacles” secured her “Best Concept” prize. Athalia Barbé’s “Kouler Nou Larises” collection dazzled, earning her “Best Professional Stylist” award.

“Lafoli Lanmod” concluded as a signal of cultural expression and innovation, marking a momentous chapter for the future of Seychelles fashion. The event not only celebrated the winners but also signified the rich potential of the islands’ rising fashion scene.
